Chat Room
Welcome to the wotmania chat room. This is the perfect place at wotmania to chat in real-time with other wotmaniacs. That's assuming you want to talk to the bunch of nuts that frequent this place, of course... 
NOTE: The chat server has a new version of the database running, and it's been a little moody since the upgrade. Every day around 3am chat will be down for a few minutes while the server reboots itself. I'm hoping this will help things along in general, until I can figure out what the real problem is.

Chat Transcripts
Besides some of the neat new features that you all get to enjoy, this chat room also keeps a permanent transcript of everything that is said in the chat room. For those who are concerned about privacy, let me assure you that no one other than myself has access to these transcripts. Also, I have better things to do with my life than read through such transcripts. They are there so that when complaints are made about people using the chat room ("Person X threatened me in the chat room!" and other such items) I have a way to go back and see what was actually said.
If you have any questions or concerns about this, feel free to e-mail me at webmaster@wotmania.com. I will tell you right now, though, that the transcripts are a permanent feature of the new chat room. They will help remove the "Wild Wild West" atmosphere of the chat room in the past and keep things a little less obnoxious in general. Everyone complained about needing a password for the message board, once upon a time, I'm sure you'll all survive this, too.

For any geeks out there that are interested in seeing how the wotmania chat room operates, want to make use of it on their own site, or would like to contribute to it, the wotmania chat room is now a project at SourceForge. You can view the wotmania chat project info and perhaps see how this all operates. Putting the chat room up on SourceForge is also Pento's way of trying to avoid work, should someone else do a lot of work and add new features and such...
